CHINT Cambodia Joint Venture Officially Opened

MAR 7, 2022

On February 28, the SchneiTec x CHINT Cambodia joint venture factory officially opened in Phusa, Cambodia.

This is the first local medium-voltage comprehensive power equipment manufacturing base. The CHINT Cambodia factory will realize local production and local sales, fill the gap in the local power field, help Cambodia’s power construction, and further form the global supply chain layout.

The Cambodia factory covers a total area of 20,000 square meters with a total investment of 2.5 million US dollars. The factory was established in August 2020, and the construction started in November of the same year. With the strong support of the relevant Cambodian departments, CHINT Cambodia team sincerely cooperated with partners to overcome various difficulties and completed the construction work with high quality.

In the fourth quarter of last year, the factory was put into production and operation, mainly producing 22kV distribution transformers, switchgear, intelligent ring network switchgear, capacitor bank, and other electrical products. Not only that, but the Cambodian factory will also become a technical exchange center for the local power industry and an internship center for schools to help cultivate Cambodian talents.

As one of the world’s leading providers of intelligent energy solutions for the whole industrial chain, the CHINT Cambodia factory relies on its strong resource background and technical advantages, and is committed to jointly promoting the construction of local modern power systems with the joint venture partner SchneiTec.

CHINT Cambodia Factory

At present, CHINT’s radiation channel for the Southeast Asian market is gradually formed, and it is taking advantage of countries along the “Belt and Road” to jointly promote green development.

In Cambodia, the Cambodian Dadai River Hydro-power Project, which CHINT participated in the construction of, can meet nearly a quarter of the local electricity demand; in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and other places, CHINT’s manufacturing bases serve local modern products with low-voltage electrical cabinets and other related products; in Vietnam and Kazakhstan, two overseas warehouses have been established overseas to further expand channels and improve regional after-sales service.

In the future, CHINT Global will continue to improve its global industrial layout with dual headquarters in Shanghai and Singapore. The number of overseas operation and maintenance and service centers will increase to over 17, the number of overseas logistics centers rise to 17, and the number of overseas manufacturing plants to increase to 10+.
