On August 1st, the 9.65 MW rooftop distributed photovoltaic project for a renowned business group in Ecuador, undertaken by CHINT, was fully powered and connected to the grid in the city of Guayaquil. It passed inspections smoothly.
This project spans approximately 50,000 square meters of rooftop space, with an estimated annual power generation of 12.266 million kW·h, saving the client $1.2 million in electricity costs annually.
After eight months of sales negotiations, CHINT finally secured the order. However, the journey was far from easy. The team faced numerous challenges including the global pandemic, local earthquakes, product losses due to client oversights and the need for restocking, structural reinforcements for many rooftops, and dispersed construction sites making project management difficult.
Nonetheless, with close collaboration between teams, the installation was completed in 1 year and 2 months without any additional costs, and the project was delivered on time and in full quality, earning high praise and recognition from the client.
At the project site located within the business intelligence park, rows of deep blue photovoltaic panels are visible. The project has a planned installation capacity of 9.6 MW, utilizing 450W bifacial mono-crystalline silicon modules and 60kW inverters.
It connects to the grid through low-voltage lines, achieving local power generation, grid connection, conversion, and usage. This approach effectively enhances the power output of photovoltaic stations of a similar size, addressing energy losses during voltage boosting and long-distance transportation
In fact, as early as 2021, CHINT had already partnered with this Ecuadorian business group on a 7.75 MW photovoltaic project covering seven integrated rooftop facilities. Due to CHINT’s strengths, such as a specialized local team, comprehensive industrial chain, effective solutions, product quality, top-notch power station maintenance, and efficient technical support services, the client chose CHINT once again, deepening their collaboration on solar projects.
For this project, the client was driven by green, energy-saving, and eco-friendly principles. Supermarket rooftops with solar photovoltaic panels, rainwater siphoning systems, and glass curtain walls were all designed to maximize natural resource utilization and minimize energy consumption.
Hence, this project demanded high standards not just for power generation and grid connection, but also expertise and experience in electrical equipment installation and calibration.
To meet these requirements, CHINT specially established a localized team in Ecuador comprising sales, electrical technology, project management, and civil construction management professionals. This laid a solid foundation for their future ventures in the region.
The CHINT Ecuador team possesses extensive experience in the installation of photovoltaic station electrical equipment and infrastructure construction. These strengths were fully showcased during the project execution.
From product quality control to installation standards, the team maintained stringent criteria, ensuring the system was not only aesthetically pleasing but also possessed high strength, rigidity, and reliability. Ultimately, thanks to the team’s dedication and collaboration, CHINT flawlessly delivered another “turnkey” project to the client.”
