From November 14–16, the 2025 (12th) International Graphene Innovation Conference, co-hosted by CHINT Group and the China Graphene Industry Technology Innovation Alliance (CGIA), was held in Wenzhou (Yueqing). The conference has become one of the world’s most influential platforms for graphene innovation and cooperation.
This year’s theme — “Igniting New Growth, Creating a Graphene-powered Future” — focused on accelerating industrial applications. The event featured Nobel Laureate Dialogues, keynote forums, international cooperation roundtables, investment forums, product showcases, the 2025 Graphene Awards, and industry-specific sessions.
Eight Breakthrough Achievements Unveiled: Ushering in a New Era of Industrial Innovation
Graphene, a next-generation material reshaping multiple industries, was the highlight of the event’s major announcements.
The eight groundbreaking achievements span diverse sectors, including new high-performance fibers, enhanced thermal-management technologies, and progress in 8-inch graphene wafer production.
Among them, CHINT unveiled its breakthrough in mass-production-ready, room-temperature high-conductivity graphene–copper composite materials for new energy, attracting widespread industry attention.
Backed by over a decade of dedicated R&D, CHINT has achieved key technological advances in graphene composites, high-performance coatings, heat dissipation, anti-corrosion, and advanced battery materials—successfully moving from “lab samples” to “industrial-scale products.”
Six Major Agreements Signed: Building a Robust Innovation Ecosystem
Six strategic projects were signed during the event, including:
- Permanent venue of the conference in Wenzhou (Yueqing)
- Establishment of Yueqing Graphene Industry Promotion Alliance
- CGIA’s Industrial Application Base in Wenzhou (Yueqing)
- Public-benefit partnerships
- Graphene application cooperation projects
- Yueqing New Materials Industry Investment Fund
These initiatives will accelerate industrialization through a synergistic “technology + industry + capital” model, strengthening the graphene innovation ecosystem.
Nobel Dialogue: Exploring Breakthrough Paths for the Graphene Industry
A key highlight was the Nobel Laureate Dialogue, featuring:
- Nobel Physics Prize Laureate Konstantin Novoselov
- Leading materials scientists from China and Europe
- CHINT Group Research Institute
- Zhejiang University experts
They conducted in-depth discussions on the challenges and opportunities of scaling graphene from scientific discovery to industrial deployment.
During thematic forums, multiple academicians and experts delivered keynote speeches, emphasizing the importance of both “0-to-1 breakthroughs” in fundamental science and “1-to-10 transformation” in industrialization.
Industry Outlook: Graphene Enters Its Golden Decade of Applications
In his keynote speech, CGIA Chairman Li Yichun highlighted that Graphene has become a strategic priority in major economies, including the EU, U.S., and South Korea. A full industry chain from raw materials to end-use applications has taken shape.
Li predicts the next decade will be the golden era of graphene industrial applications.
Nobel Laureate Andre Geim expressed in his congratulatory message: “China’s achievements in graphene industrialization are remarkable and highly encouraging.”
A Global Graphene Festival of Innovation & Collaboration
The conference also hosted investment forums, industry roundtables, and the annual graphene awards ceremony. CHINT was honored with the IGA 2025 Graphene Industry Promotion Award.
Over three days, 1 Nobel Laureate, 7 academicians, 200 leading researchers, Representatives from Fortune Global 500 companies gathered to discuss applications in power systems, new energy, composites, low-altitude economy, vehicles, thermal management, agriculture, and more.
With its diverse activities and global participation, the conference further strengthened China’s position in the global graphene landscape and accelerated the industry’s transition toward high-quality development.
