Responsible Performance, Sustainable Future – CHINT 2023 ESG Practices

FEB 27, 2024

In pursuing a sustainable future, CHINT, as an electrical equipment manufacturer, has taken significant strides in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices throughout the year 2023. From implementing green and smart manufacturing to innovative product development and global social responsibility, CHINT has set a benchmark for ESG practices in the industry.

Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility

CHINT actively practices ESG, promotes sustainable development, and fulfils social responsibility to create value for customers, seek development for employees, and take responsibility for the community. Our goal is to create a green ecological environment for sustainable development and contribute to the promotion of green and clean energy.

Implementing Green and Smart Manufacturing

CHINT is leading manufacturing enterprises towards a greener future and working towards creating a new ecology of green and smart manufacturing in the industry.

CHINT Electrics and Astronergy were awarded the honorary title of National Green Factories in 2023.

Noark was selected as one of the National Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Factories in 2023.

Astronergy’s Yancheng Base has received TÜV Rheinland’s world’s first zero-carbon factory certification for the photovoltaic industry.

Additionally, CHINT is actively promoting the certification of carbon-neutral factories in Daqiao Industrial Park.

Innovative Development of Green Products

Always adhering to the road of innovation and R&D, CHINT actively practices the concept of dual-carbon and environmental protection.

In 2023, CHINT’s 10kV~750kV series of natural ester insulating oil transformers successfully passed the technical evaluation. Compared with traditional mineral insulating oil, natural ester insulating oil is recyclable, does not rely on petrochemical raw materials, and has lower carbon emissions.

Two of NOARK’s products – Ex9MHV series and Ex9MD3HV series – have been awarded carbon footprint certificates, providing a clear picture of the carbon footprint of the entire life cycle of the products.

CHINT’s NB6 series circuit-breakers are made from environmentally friendly materials and more than 80% of the materials can be recycled.

Perseverance in the Zero Carbon Journey

The CHINT 2023 Global Development Summit and 10th International Marketing Forum (10th CIMF) marked CHINT’s inaugural Carbon-Neutral Conference, verified by TÜV SÜD.

At the event, CHINT proudly released the CHINT Carbon Neutrality White Paper and the ‘Zero Carbon Declaration’, formally announcing CHINT’s journey towards a carbon-neutral world.

Comprehensive Layout of Digital Transformation

CHINT has been recognised as a ‘Digital Leader’ model enterprise by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China. It is the only enterprise in the low-voltage electrical appliance industry to receive this recognition. Additionally, CHINT has been selected as a National Pilot Project for standardisation in high-end equipment manufacturing industry.

CHINT has achieved digitisation of the entire value chain, from design to sales, through automated production lines, integrated intelligent warehousing, and product lifecycle management.

Acting with the United Nations Global Compact

In 2021, CHINT joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).

In 2023, CHINT was one of the first 20 Chinese companies to participate in the UNGC’s ‘Forward Faster’ initiatives, including the Targeted Gender Equality Accelerator (TGE) and Climate Ambition Accelerator (CAA) programs, in order to promote sustainability.

Smart Power Drives Warmthand Goodwill

Lighting up a lamp to dispel the hidden worries of electricity consumption of families in difficulty.

Gathering a beam of light, illuminating the dream of rural students to pursue education.

Shine a light on the road ahead without fear of difficulties.

Let electricity do its best; let love do its best.

Actively Fulfilling Global Social Responsibilities

As a compassionate and responsible company, CHINT actively fulfils its social responsibilities and carries out emergency relief and other public welfare projects in countries such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, demonstrating the power of CHINT.

Setting a Benchmark for ESG Practice

CHINT has been recognised for its ESG practices by professional organisations both domestically and internationally. Moving forward, CHINT will utilise its full value chain to empower global partners with safer, greener, more convenient, and efficient energy.

Conclusion

CHINT’s dedication to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices sets a standard for the industry. Through its innovative approaches to sustainability and active global engagement, CHINT is spearheading a path towards a greener, more responsible future. With a commitment to collaboration and action, CHINT paves the way for a sustainable legacy for generations to come.
