Co-organized by International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML), Asia-Pacific Legal Metrology Forum (APLMF) and State Administration for Market Regulation, the OIML/APLMF Certification Seminar was held on July 15 in Hangzhou, attracting more than 100 delegates from 26 country and economies worldwide.
On the afternoon of 16th, Paul Dixon, deputy director of International Bureau of Legal Measurement (BIML), Phil Sorrel, representative of APLMF and Pu Changcheng, former deputy director of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China led an expert delegation to visit CHINT, the only company to visit over the seminar.
Zhejiang is a province with mass production in meters and instruments, accounting for the leading number, scale, market share and export volume in China. In 2017, Zhejiang CHINT Meter Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CHINT Meter") was the first to obtain OIML certificate of electric energy meter, which was also the second certificate issued by OIML worldwide. Up to now, including CHINT Meter, there are 20 measuring instrument manufacturers in Zhejiang who have obtained OIML certificate, mainly in the fields of weighing apparatus, electric energy meter, water meter and gas meter, etc.
Chairman Nan said in his welcome speech that the certificate system of OIML is the "examination certificate" and "letter of credit" for measuring instruments. CHINT Meter has passed strict certification constantly, which not only enhances the technical strength, process level and quality control ability, but also greatly improves the product reliability. Under the joint efforts of OIML, governments, institutions and enterprises worldwide, the certificate system of OIML is bound to eliminate technical barriers in order to accelerate the process of mutual recognition and expand the scope of the mutual recognition. By a test, one certificate and global mutual recognition, it will further promote the global trade facilitation.
