Introduction

CHINT played a pivotal role in the design of the Philippines Data Center T3-level data center in Manila, Philippines, featuring a PUE of 1.3 and being the first green data center in the Philippines. For Phase I of the project, CHINT, as the solution provider, equipment supplier, and system integrator, delivered a comprehensive low-carbon solution, covering everything from low-voltage systems to the data hall. This included two 40-foot CUPS containers, housing electromechanical equipment such as low-voltage switchgear, UPS, battery cabinets, HVAC, and fire protection systems, along with two 20-foot containers containing oil-immersed transformers and ring main units. For the data hall, CHINT supplied eight precision power distribution units to provide reliable power to the loads of the data center.

Challenges

-Stringent Green Standards

As the first green data center in the Philippines, the project required a PUE of 1.3, demanding exceptional energy efficiency from the overall system design.

 

-High System Integration Complexity

The solution needed to cover everything from low-voltage power supply to critical infrastructure within the data hall, involving multiple layers of electromechanical systems.

 

-Space and Modular Constraints

All equipment had to be housed in 40-foot and 20-foot containerized units, requiring compact engineering, efficient layout design, and modular deployment.

 

-Reliable Power Continuity

The data center’s mission-critical operations demanded uninterrupted and highly reliable power delivery, posing a challenge for both system redundancy and precision distribution.

 

-Localization and Coordination

The project required alignment with local standards and conditions in the Philippines, while maintaining seamless coordination across CHINT’s global supply and service teams.
