The 103MW Solar Park Midden Groningen, developed by CHINT Solar/Astronergy was successfully connected to the grid in the Netherlands. Installed with 315,000 pieces of CHINT independent solar panels on a land plot of 117 hectares, the Solar Park can provide clean energy for at least 32,000 households. According to Solarplaza, it is by far the largest one in the Netherlands and the first one to be connected in Dutch power utility, TenneT, which adding new examples for the two countries in the field of new energy cooperation.
The 103MW Solar Park Midden Groningen was independently developed by CHINT Solar/Astronergy from earlier design, procurement, construction, grid connection and later operation & maintenance. The project was officially started in early 2019 and is fully operational in October 2019.
The project is also highly integrated with the local environment. A hedge of 12, 000 trees will be planned to create a green barrier that will make the plant more integrated with its surroundings.
Up to now, CHINT Solar/Astronergy has developed and built three PV power stations in the Netherlands, with a total capacity of 133.5MW. In addition the Solar Park Midden Groningen, the Veendam 15.5MW PV power station located in Groningen was successfully completed and connected to the grid in December 2017, becoming the largest PV grid-connected project in the Netherlands in 2017 and an important footnote for CHINT Solar/Astronergy to enter the Dutch new energy market.
In November 2018, Andijk 15MW PV power station in Medemblik was completed and connected to the grid. Efforts were made to integrate the PV power station with the surrounding landscape environment, so it was fully supported by the local government and successfully developed, from pure development and construction to landscape integration.
