CU-CZ 1U DC SPD

The CHINT CU-CZ 1U DC Surge Protective Device (SPD) provides reliable lightning and transient overvoltage protection for low-voltage DC and telecommunication systems. Built to IEC/EN 61643-31 and YD/T 1235 standards, it effectively shields DC −48 V circuits and return paths from surge energy up to 40 kA. The modular plug-in design simplifies maintenance, while optional auxiliary contacts support remote signaling. Compact, flame-retardant, and rated for −45 °C to +85 °C, the CU-CZ 1U DC SPD ensures durable, intelligent surge protection.

FAQs

What is the main application of the CU-CZ 1U DC SPD?

It’s engineered for low-voltage DC and telecommunication systems (e.g., −48 V base-station or network power lines), providing lightning and transient surge protection to prevent equipment damage.

What is the difference between CU-I+II and CU-II models?

CU-I+II (6.25CZ) combines Type I and II protection with an impulse rating of 6.25 kA, while CU-II (40CZ) is Type II only, optimized for secondary surge protection up to 40 kA.

Does the device include remote signaling or status monitoring?

Yes. Versions with “/F” include an auxiliary contact for remote status monitoring (NC = normal, NO = fault). LED indicators show green for operational and red for fault.

How is the SPD installed or replaced?

It uses a compact plug-in module with an anti-pull buckle; simply insert into the cabinet and press down to mount, or pull the handle to remove for maintenance.

What environmental and safety ratings does it meet?

It operates from −45 °C to +85 °C, with 5–95 % RH, IP20 protection, and UL 94 V-0 flame-retardant housing — ensuring durability under severe outdoor or industrial conditions.
