JUL 7, 2023

The new office in South Korea encompasses a CHINT Experience Center, built with collaboration in mind for partners, stakeholders, and customers to reimagine smart energy solutions

SOUTH KOREA, 30 JUNE 2023 – CHINT, a global leader in smart energy solutions, has officially expanded its smart energy and sustainability services to South Korea yesterday. The new office is driven by a dedicated team of the industry’s top scientists, engineers, and experts who have the local expertise to serve the South Korean market and support companies in their energy and resource transition journey to sustainable solutions.

As a global end-to-end solutions provider, CHINT offers Power-to-Plug assistance that propels organizations in the United States of America, Europe, West Asia and Africa, and Asia Pacific (APAC) to succeed with customizable, realistic, and superior quality products and services.

Over the last three years, CHINT has been rapidly expanding its services across APAC. In 2022, CHINT established offices in Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, with the Singapore office serving as the Asia Pacific Headquarters and co-located with CHINT Asia Pacific Innovation Lab.

South Korea is the newest addition to CHINT APAC’s foothold in the region. This marks another milestone of CHINT’s commitment to continually partner with their customers to achieve their business and environmental goals while boosting production efficiency. CHINT supports their local market in key business segments, namely Renewables, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), Electric Vehicles (EV) and Transmission and Distribution (T&D).

As part of the official launch, CHINT also engaged with local industry stakeholders through thought-leadership sharing sessions. These sessions were focused on how the company had navigated business challenges through innovative approaches to achieve top-notch results in the different markets that CHINT has a presence in.

For instance, CHINT shared about its involvement in the largest ESS project in Southeast Asia, spearheaded by Singapore’s Sembcorp Industries Ltd. This is a project by the Singapore Government to accelerate energy storage for the nation. The ESS commenced its operations in December 2022 and has a maximum storage capacity of 285MWh – meeting the electricity needs of around 24,000 four-room flats (measuring around 90 to 110 square meters on average) for one day in a single discharge. The project was commissioned within a 6-month tenure and is the fastest in the world of its size to be deployed to date.
