On November 27, Bloomberg Green held The Watchlist 2026 announcement ceremony at the MGM Shanghai 2025, honoring companies and institutions at the forefront of sustainable business in China. CHINT Group was honored as one of the ESG Champions for the second consecutive year, in recognition of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and outstanding performance in the ESG space.
Rotating President of CHINT Group, Mr. Luan Guangfu, attended the ceremony and participated in an exclusive interview with Bloomberg Green, where he shared the company's innovative approaches and tangible achievements in driving sustainable development.
As a highly authoritative and influential annual event in the field of ESG and sustainable development, The Watchlist 2026 expanded beyond the established ESG Champion, Leading ESG Project and ESG Innovation Driver categories, introducing two new evaluation systems: Green Financial Institutions / Projects and ESG Advocates. The event gathered global business leaders, investment institutions and industrial chain partners to jointly explore new business paradigms under the "dual carbon" goals.
Since its establishment in 1984, CHINT has built a new ecology for the integrated development of the full industrial chain of "power generation, power storage, power transmission, power transformation, power distribution, power sales and power consumption". By actively deploying clean energy sources such as photovoltaics, biomass energy, and wind power, CHINT continues to contribute to the global carbon reduction process.
"CHINT has released the 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy and will further deepen this strategy by formulating the 15th Five-Year ESG Strategy, striving to be an explorer, advocate and practitioner in the Zero-Carbon Era," stated by Luan Guangfu.
To date, CHINT has built over 800 wind and solar power stations worldwide, serving more than 1.8 million residential rooftop PV users, and providing over 79.2 billion kWh of green electricity annually, with an average annual carbon dioxide reduction of over 65 million tons. CHINT ELECTRIC and ASTRONERGY, subsidiaries of the group, have successively applied to join the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) with 2024 as the base year. Through its energy efficiency information management platform, CHINT has realized comprehensive monitoring of energy consumption and carbon emissions across all factories, investing over 500 million RMB in energy-saving renovations over the past three years.
In 2025, five of CHINT's industrial parks were awarded the dual certifications of "Organizational Carbon Neutrality" and "Zero-Carbon Factory", having reduced carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 67,000 tons cumulatively. CHINT has continued to promote scientific carbon reduction actions, providing a replicable and referable practical path for the global green energy transition.
Facing "green barriers" in global development, CHINT has adopted a systematic response strategy of "internal improvement and external synergy", establishing a carbon management foundation system covering goals, management, manufacturing and products. The Group has clarified its target path: carbon neutrality in operations by 2028, net-zero carbon emissions by 2035, and net-zero carbon emissions across the whole value chain by 2050.
