On August 9, the 220kV natural ester insulating oil transformer developed by CHINT successfully passed the full tests under the witness of engineers from KEMA Netherlands, an international authoritative third-party electrical equipment testing institution. The withstand voltage of lightning impulse on the high-voltage side of the transformer is up to 1050kV, 10% higher than the national standard of China 950kV.
This is a breakthrough after CHINT completed the 132kV natural ester insulating oil transformer in 2018, and took the lead in completing the R&D and test of 220kV natural ester insulating oil transformer in China.
Environmental friendly transformer represented by natural ester insulating oil transformer and high short-circuit resistance transformer are two "unique weapons" of CHINT transformer products. Since 2016, CHINT has successively produced dozens of natural ester insulating oil transformers of various voltage grades from 10kV, 13.8kV, 33kV to 132kV for users all over the world, with the cumulative contract amount of nearly 10 million dollars.
In April 2018, CHINT’s 132kV natural ester insulating oil transformer smoothly passed KEMA's test and was highly recognized by Australian users. In May 2019, combined natural ester insulating oil transformer developed by CHINT successfully obtained the UL certification of the Unite Sates, refreshing records of the domestic transformer manufacturer and opening the North America and the Middle East Asia market.
The natural ester insulating oil transformer developed by CHINT, commonly known as vegetables oil transformer, has the characteristics of fire and explosion proof, high ignition point, environmental protection and no pollution. By means of electromagnetic field calculation and simulation, prototype trial production and data exploration and analysis, and temperature rise calculation and test, the 220kV natural ester insulating oil transformer has advantages of low temperature rise, low noise, strong short-circuit resistance, long service life and high reliability. It’s a very good choice for fire and explosion protection, environmental protection and other requirements of customers.
At present, the vegetables oil transformer of CHINT has been widely used in environmental protection, photovoltaic power stations, industrial and mining enterprises and power grids, among which the 132kV transformer has been successfully connected to the network and operated safely for more than a year.
CHINT has been committed to promoting the market of environment-friendly power transformer, and has formed cooperation with China Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Xi 'an Jiaotong University, CHINT High Voltage Technology Research Institute to jointly develop and continuously improve the performance and reliability of natural ester insulating oil transformer.
