Cambodia’s Energy Minister Visits CHINT

On May 12th, H.E. KEO Rottanak, Minister of Mines and Energy of Cambodia, visited CHINT’s Hangzhou campus, accompanied by Xiao Ping, Party Secretary and Chairman of China National Machinery Industry Corporation (Sinomach). The delegation held discussions with Nan Cunhui, Chairman of CHINT Group, focusing on seizing opportunities, promoting cooperation, and achieving win-win development.

Under the Belt and Road Initiative, economic and trade cooperation between China and Cambodia has been continuously upgraded. Collaboration in the power and energy sectors has deepened. H.E. KEO Rottanak noted Cambodia’s favorable business and investment environment and the vast potential of the solar energy industry. Returning to CHINT after five years, he praised the company’s consistent and vigorous growth. He expressed hope that CHINT would leverage this opportunity to increase its investment in Cambodia, seize new opportunities, and drive significant growth through cooperation for mutual benefit.

Nan Cunhui thanked Cambodia for its longstanding trust and support. He stated that CHINT is eager to partner with stakeholders, concentrating on resources and exploring collaborative models to become a valuable ally and consultant in Cambodia’s energy transition. Despite external changes, trends toward digitalization, intelligence, and greening remain certain. CHINT will thoroughly study the Cambodian market, align with local resources, and adopt a long-term strategic perspective to integrate research and development, technological innovation, and industry resources. By introducing new technologies, models, and business formats, CHINT aims to facilitate the implementation of high-quality projects, support local power development, and energize Cambodia’s industrial competitiveness and economic growth.

Notably, in Cambodia, CHINT has been involved in flagship projects such as the Tatay River Hydropower Station and has established a medium-voltage comprehensive power equipment joint venture factory. Addressing the uneven power development, CHINT has also designed customized off-grid household solar systems for rural areas lacking electricity, contributing to the construction of modern power systems.

On May 11th, H.E. KEO Rottanak and his delegation also visited CHINT’s global headquarters and R&D manufacturing center in Haining. They observed the digital production workshops, photovoltaic module production processes, and the performance advantages of the ASTRO series products.
